Welcome to the Ferbane/Belmont Minor G A A Club Internet Site which is regularly updated to keep you Informed of all the latest news in the club. The club has been in existance since 1987 and was founded by Fr. Michael Campbell. Our aims are to provide a safe, healthy, sporting and enjoyable outlet for children in the parish through the medium of Gaelic Games. In these times it is vital that children have recreation facilities available to them. Our club competes in 11 competitions annually from Minor Football and Hurling championships to under-8 tournaments. In 2006, our under 10 footballers qualified for the Community Games Leinster Final. Our under 12 footballers and hurlers contested county finals. A bright and successful future awaits us I'm sure. The club activities give children a great outlet to expend their energy and an opportunity to improve their football and hurling skills.
If you would like to get involved in the club, contact any member of the committee and they can provide you with all the information you need. If you have any comments on the club or this website, simply click on the contact link on the left of this page. In 2007, the club appointed a Child Protection Liaison Officer and implemented a Child Protection Policy in accordance with the new club guidelines. Contact the club secretary for details.
I also wish to thank again, all our Players, Managers, Selectors, and Supporters. I especially thank all our Sponsors and Parents who contribute generously to the Club each year. Our sincere thanks to the Ferbane and Belmont senior clubs for the use of their facilities in Ferbane and Moystown. This year we hope to make the new club jersey available to every member of the club.
Congratulations to all our teams who participated in county competitions and tournaments in 2007. The club had a marvellous year and qualified for 5 county finals winning 4 of them. You can see match reports by clicking on this link [match reports] To cap it all off, we were also presented with the 2007 Club of the Year award by Offaly Coiste na nÓg. In 2007 also, Colin Egan, Belmont captained the Offaly Minor Footballers in the 2007 Leinster Championship. Let's see what 2008 will bring !!
